Best Leg Exercises

Most guys always workout their upper bodies and most women want good leg exercises. Well, the truth is that both sexes benefit greatly from doing leg workouts.

When focusing leg workout routines you need to incorporate exercises that will work the whole leg and improve performance in your daily life. Squats are the number one leg exercise because they work so much of the leg but they aren’t the only thing you need to do to have better looking or stronger legs.

The best leg exercises will include many different lifts that target different areas. Lets start with some calf exercises you can do.

Standing calf raises are a great way to develop the gastrocnemius muscle of your calf. Make sure that you go all the way up on the balls of your feet and then lower the heel down until you feel a good stretch. These are too easy to do with both feet at the same time so do them one leg at a time. If that is still too easy you can hold a weight in your hand.

Hamstrings are the back of the leg from the butt down to the back of the knee. To workout the hamstrings you can hamstring curls at a gym but if you don’t have a gym membership you can still do leg workouts at home. Lunges are a great way to target the hamstrings and the glutes. Just a few lunges will get you sore if you haven’t done them before so you don’t need to overdue it at first.
