How to Lose Weight Fast Diet
Our Body and Food
When our body functions throughout the day it has to use energy. The energy we use is actually energy that comes from the sun which plants are able to capture. So when we eat anything that is grown, such as fruits and vegetables we get that solar energy that they have stored. Animals that eat plants also get their energy from said plants and so when we eat them, we get that same energy that originated from the sun. Our bodies need nutrients, of which there are 6. Of the 6 nutrients available, 4 of them are organic. Organic means that they contain the element carbon. The only 2 nutrients that don’t contain carbon are water and carbohydrates. There are 3 nutrients that provide us with energy and they are carbs, fats (also known as lipids) and proteins. Though proteins don’t provide energy as readily as the other two because they are used to support some structures in the body. So we are now left with the 2 remaining
nutrients of the body which are vitamins and minerals. These do not provide us with any energy. Their role is to act as regulators. Vitamins and minerals help in all processes of the body. Food is measured in units of heat called calories. Fat is the most dense of the nutrients with 9 calories per gram of fat. While carbohydrates and proteins have only 4 calories per gram. Would it be possible to live on supplements that are full of vitamins and minerals? No, because food provides a lot more than just nutrients. If you eat a healthy diet there is no need to consume any extra type of supplement for your health. This even includes fish oil. If you eat the recommended 2 servings of fish each week you will have enough fish oil to keep you healthy. Now taking supplements for joint pain such as glucosamine would still be okay and works great for building extra synovial fluid in the knees and other joints.
Food Choices
Each day half of the people in the United States don’t eat any fruit or fruit juices and take away french fries as the form of vegetable people consume and half of them aren’t eating vegetables daily either. Knowing how to combine foods into nutritous diets is a key to living a healthy life. A healthy diet will provide adequate energy for your throughout the day. This means that it must contain carbs because they are the most readily usable energy source in the body. But you also need to control your calories as to not eat more calories than needed each day. Your body needs different foods and it doesn’t ever need to be commercially detoxed. All you need to do is eat completely different healthy foods and your body will get rid of the toxins and contaminants that have built up from eating the same foods everyday. Don’t be fooled by products that market themselves with catchy names or use organic in their packaging. Many people feel overwhelmed with what to eat and what not to eat so they seek a professional in the field. Beware of people calling themselves experts when they really aren’t. Lets look at a nutrionist vs. a dietitian. A registered dietitian is someone that has been trained in the food science field whereas a nutritionist can just be a sef-described expert with no formal schooling or education.
Nervous System and Nutrition
Our brain is well aware when our bodies lack nutrients. Namely the hypothalamus senses when water or nutrients are low. When we feel hunger it’s because our digestive tract sends an impulse to the hypothalamus. Our thinking part of the brain is the cortex and this becomes aware of hunger when the hypothalamus relays the message. This is when we can choose to eat if hungry, but some people take advantage of this and eat when they are not physiologically in need of food.
Why Diet Pills Don’t Work
Diet pills are said to work in the large intestines to block certain fats from entering the body. The only thing wrong with this is that by the time food reaches the large intestines it is almost completely done digesting and being absorbed in the body. When you eat fat it enters the stomach and floats to the top and only a very small amount is digested in the stomach.
Are Carbohydrates Friendly?
When you need energy there is no better way to get it than by eating carbs. They also help keep your body lean if they are within calorie limits. But you need to know that are different types of carbohydrates in the body and they are complex (starches and fiber) and simple (sugars). Carbon and water are combined to make what is known by the name carbo-hydrate. Single sugars are known as monosacharides and there are 3 of them: Fructose, Glucose and Galactose. There are also disaccharide which means double sugars. These are made by combining glucose with one of the other monosaccharides or with another glucose. Fructose + Glucose = Sucrose, Glucose + Glucose = Maltose, and Galactose + Glucose= Lactose. Lactose is the sugar in milk and for some people that are lactose intolerant they cannot break the bond to digest it so they are not able to consume milk. Starch, glycogen and fiber are all chains of glucose that cannot be broken by the human digestive system and are known as polysaccharide. In order for Carbs to make you fat, they would have to be converted from glucose into fat which would consume many of the calories of the carbs making them even less fattening than thought of before. So technically they could be seen as even less than 4 calories per gram if they are converted into fat inside the body. So a tip for a how to lose weight fast diet is to consume about 300 calories of foods that are rich in complex carbohydrates about 2 hours before you go to the gym to workout.
