Protein Drinks for Women?
As a personal trainer I often hear women saying “I don’t want to lift weights because I will bulk up” or “what are some exercises for women that won’t make them bulky?” And my answer is that you won’t bulk up unless you are lifting heavier weight than men, which isn’t going to happen. When you are doing shoulder presses with a 50 pound dumbbell in each hand you might start bulking. When you are squatting 225 like it’s nothing, you might start bulking up. But before you bulk up you will get very lean. So never fear that you will bulk because you are a woman working out with weights.
Protein Shakes for Women
So should women take protein powder? Yes! Women and protein go hand in hand when the woman is working out. In fact many women would benefit from drinking protein shakes even if they aren’t working out because they lack protein. When you exercise your body needs protein and you should take protein powder after a workout to help your muscles rebuild what they just broke down. Protein drinks, protein powders, protein bars, you name it and it’s okay for women to take.
